Championing African Businesses

In 1956, British companies with interests in West Africa set up the West Africa Committee in Lagos to assist and stimulate business, trade and economic development across the region.

Although the organisation has had various names over the years, our focus has remained connecting sub-Saharan Africa to the international business community as a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee.

Now called the Business Council for Africa (BCA), we invest in the next generation of African business leaders through bursaries, scholarships, and a programme of events and awards that promote, encourage and reward African business success.
